George Rivera Obituary
George Rivera, 55, of Windsor, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. He was born on January 24, 1967, in Hartford, CT; a son of the late Esteban and Bienvenida Rivera. George was a graduate of Hartford High School and lived in Hartford until moving to Windsor. He was a dedicated employee of Otis Elevator in Bloomfield for 26 years.
George was a die-hard New York Yankees fan and enjoyed any chance he got to attend a game. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was an avid hunter; hunting season was his favorite time of year where he could enjoy his peace time and nature. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, and golfing.
The most important aspect of George's life was his family. He enjoyed spending his Sundays' preparing dinner to share with his family. He has a huge heart and was loved by so many.
George is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; four children, Vanessa Torres (Hector), George Rivera, Jr., Veronica Rivera, and Victoria Rivera (Angel); two step-children, Xavier and Madison Rosado; six grandchildren, Valerie, Hector III, Benjamin, Viana, Nalah, and Amelia. He also leaves two brothers, Esteban Rivera, Jr., and Carlos Rivera; a sister, Idalis Ramos, and three nieces, three nephews, and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Alberto Rivera.
Calling hours for George will held on Tuesday, August 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Justin-St. Michael Parish, 230 Blue Hills Ave., Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Francis Hospital, for the compassionate care George received.
