He was predeceased by: his spouse Iva B.; his parent Albert Nicholson; his son Donald E. Nicholson, Jr.; his brother Albert Nicholson; and his brothers-in-law, William Kaswer and Harold Starkey.
He is survived by: his parent Mildred Nicholson (Lane); his daughter Leigh Kuhn (Peter) of Windsor; his sister Margaret Kaswer of Brookfield; his sisters-in-law, Helen Nicholson of Rock Hill, SC and Ann Starkey (Helena) of Norwalk; his grandchildren, Stephen Quinlan (Erin), Colleen Menzies (Brian), Jennifer McCann (Travis), Christopher Kuhn and Brittany Hallenbeck (Kyle); and his great grandchildren, Mason, Ellen, Jackson, Cameron, Madison, Hadley, Maxine and Brayden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
