He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil G. Nelson and Harriet Rebecca Harriday. He is survived by: his wife Joan D. Nelson; his sons, Allyn Nelson II (Tyra) and Udo I. C. G. Nelson (Laura); his grandchildren, Olivia, Grant, Leah, Emily and Vincent; and his siblings, Franklin P. Nelson, Linda Robinson, Robert G. Nelson, Alice M. Ferguson and Robert Willis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
