It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Russell Mattesen of Windsor Locks, Connecticut, born in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, who passed away on May 27, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles and Doris Mattesen (Burdick). He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Mattesen (Gilman); his children, Maureen Lisotto (John), Rusty Mattesen, Gary Mattesen (June), Sharon Pfaffenbichler (Ken) and Thomas Mattesen (Michele); his grandchildren, David (Kim), Shayla, Michelle (Adam), Bobby (Josh), Timmy, Sarah, Corey (Nicole), Charles (Sarah), Casey (Shawna), Robert (Andrea) and Dillon (Lauren); and his great grandchildren, Bryce, Brayden, Maddox, Julian, Kayden, Shelby, Caleb, Mason, Gianna and Carter.

Memorial donations may be made to Windsor Locks Little League Baseball.

Russ was the epitome of kindness, good nature and generosity. He was one of the finest men I have ever had the privilege and pleasure of knowing. May his family be comforted by memories of days past.
