Marcel G Pare Obituary
Marcel G. Pare, 94 of Windsor Locks, Connecticut and Deltona, Florida passed away on August 17, 2024. He was born in Hartford, CT on June 10, 1930, and was the son of Joseph W. Pare and Alice G. Pare.
He attended Saint Anne's School, Saint Thomas Seminary and graduated from Hartford Public High School. At the onset of the Korean Conflict Marcel enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve and was honorably discharged after 6 years of service.
He was very active in the Hartford Democratic Party Organization. He was an officer of the Franco- America Democratic club for several years and was elected to the CT general assembly House of Representatives. He represented Hartford for 2 terms during Ribicoff, Grasso and JF Kennedy era.
He was employed by the Atena Life Insurance Company for 37 years and was chief administrator of the Customer Service Department. After retirement in 1986 Marcel earned his life insurance sales license and rejoined Aetna as a Life Insurance enroller.
As a youth Marcel was very involved with scouting and achieved Life Scout status. He learned many skills that assisted him throughout his life. Marcel enjoyed all types of sports and was a life-time St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants and Boston Celtics fan. He was an avid fisherman and had many fly-in trips to the Northern Quebec, Canada regions including the Hudson Bay area in search of trophy trout.
Over the years Marcel was involved in several businesses that included The Broasterant, Mager Music and more recently Strictly Chicken in Cromwell, CT.
Marcel leaves behind his 4 children: Lynn Pare Stanard (William Stanard) of Monterey, MA, Mark J. Pare (Mary Pare) of Deltona, Fl, Lauren Pare Rives (Lyndell Rives) of Windsor Lock, CT and Lisa Pare of Ocala, FL. He also leaves behind 4 grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visiting Hours are from 1:00pm-2:00pm with a 2:00pm Memorial Service, Friday, August 23, 2024 at Baldauff Family Funeral Home, 1233 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, Fl 32763.
