In loving memory of Gwendolyn C. LaRose of Windsor Locks, Connecticut, who departed this world on January 24, 2025 at the age of 89. Gwendolyn leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, David L. and Margaret Carter (Nolan); her daughter Jean LaRose; and her siblings, Joseph, Robert Carter, Shirley Bridges and Joan Champion.
She is survived by: her husband Richard G. LaRose; and her sister-in-law Violet Lewis of Ledyard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home (1816 Poquonock Ave, Windsor, CT 06095). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gate of Heaven Parish St. Mary's Church (42 Spring St, Windsor Locks, CT 06096). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the St. Joseph Cemetery (2101 Poquonock Ave, Windsor, CT 06095).
Memorial Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The family has chosen to send donations to Alzheimer's Disease Research Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital.
