With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Araxie Markarian of Windsor Locks, Connecticut, born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 18, 2022 at the age of 96. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Araxie Markarian to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Siragan Soukiasian and Derouhie Soukiasian (Margosian); her son William "Billy" Markarian; her brother Haig Soukiasian; and her niece Araxie Soukiasian.
She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Markarian of Windsor Locks and Debra Vartanian (John) of Wilbraham, MA; her granddaughters, Nicole Vartanian (Frank McPhee) of Boston, MA, Stefanie Schwendenmann (Andrew) of Hampden, MA, Tamara Vartanian (Matt Kearney) of Boston, MA and Kristina Vartanian of Wilbraham, MA; her sister-in-law Derouhie "Deroug" Soukiasian; and her niece Catherine James.
Her family would prefer that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. George Armenian Church, 22 White St., Hartford, CT 06114.
