Nancy I. Burr Obituary

Nancy Inez Burr, 90, died on March 14, 2025, at Wilton Meadows. Born in Norwalk on May 1, 1934, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Flora McCryne, she was also predeceased by her husband Roger Burr, daughter Betty-Ann Burr, and her siblings, Benjamin McCryne, Betty-Ann McCryne, and Peggy Reda.

She worked for Yankee Metal for many years and spent over 20 years working in the Silvermine Elementary School cafeteria. Nancy was incredibly creative and artistic with a knack for turning something ordinary into something beautiful that she frequently gifted to friends and family.

Nancy loved spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and playing bingo. Her creativity extended into the kitchen, where she was known for her delicious recipes, often shared at family gatherings.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Christine Ivory, seven grandchildren, Nicole, Rebecca, David, Allison, Eric, Jacqueline, and Julianne, as well as ten cherished great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, from 11-1 PM, with a prayer service to begin at 12:30, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
