He was predeceased by: his parents, George F. Potts, Jr. and Lois Saunders; and his brother Ronald Potts. He is survived by: his wife Christine Potts (Przybyla); his son Ryan Potts (Megan); his grandson Hudson; his son Jeffrey Potts; his grandchildren, Quannah and Zachary; his sister Janet Potts; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Roy (Robert) and Michael Douthwright (Joellen). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation.
