He was predeceased by: his parents, Ovid Caya (David) and Lea Caya (Lussier); his former wife Evelyn Moseley; his brothers, Rodger Caya and Maurice Caya; his son Kenneth Caya; and his stepdaughter Michelle Aceto.
He is survived by: his wife Isabelle Caya (Bushey); his children, Joseph Caya (Norah), Nancy Breault (Arthur), David Caya (Cindy), Bonnie Sikoski (Mike), Salli Maglio (Michael) and Terri Richard (Daniel); his stepchildren, Louise Locke and John Hayes (Tina); his sister Theresa Buell of Eastford; and his half-brother Raymond Therrier. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The National World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana.
