He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Willie Mae Owens (Champion); his daughters, Tasha and Keisha; and his grandchild Issac Torres.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Mary L. Bruttomesso; his children, Sherone Harden, Takaya (Christina), Gregory J. and Christina Owens; his siblings, Patsy Owens, Marcia Herring, Bernadine Calixte and Alan Evans; and his grandchildren, Caroline Swift, Savannah Owens, Trey Hall, Isaiah, Iyasia, Iyanna Torres and Gregory J. Owens Jr..
