He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ayres and Mary Waldron Ayres; and his sister Kathryn McGrath. He is survived by: his siblings, John and Margaret Ayres; his son Tom Jr.; his grandchildren, Sara DiCicco (Michael), Meghan Millard (Kevin) and Samantha DaMotta; his great grandchildren, Michaela, Jon Thomas, Ryan, Callie, Camden and Julius; his friend Holly Maurice; and his pet Jerry Garcia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Despite economic hardships and the loss of a father and young brother, Tom's home life was very loving and happy and soundly built upon the strong foundation of Catholic faith and Irish culture and traditions.
