It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Payette of Wethersfield, Connecticut, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on October 2, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Lynn Van Ausdall Payette; his children, Robin Payette Neary (James), Dr. Kim Payette-Hwang (John Hwang) and Steven Payette (Jeneit); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Alexander, Alyssa, Julia, Kassandra and Sophia; and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Bellahmi. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and a sister.

It was a special occasion as my folks let me skip school to go with him. I was bursting with pride as the teenage girls kept flirting with him. He was MY brother.”
