Howard Davison Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Howard Davison (Wethersfield, Connecticut), born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on May 26, 2018, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
I plan to live to be 100 years old!" Well, Uncle Howie, you sure did! Our beloved brother and uncle was born on December 2, 1917 and passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2018 after a long and happy life. Born in Bridgeport to David and Becky Hoff Davison, Howard was raised in the north end of Hartford and graduated Weaver High School Class of 1935. He lived in Wethersfield until well into his 90's prior to making his home at The Retreat and eventually The Hebrew Center for Health & Rehabilitation in West Hartford. He was truly a simple, kind and easy-going gentleman. He had a long and wonderful marriage to Muriel Carter Davison for 47 years until her passing in 1997. Howard will be greatly missed by his sister and brother-in-law Lois and Richard Gillman of West Hartford and by his cherished niece and "Best Friend" Gail Gillman Elansky and husband David Elansky of Avon. Howard was an avid sportsman and spectator up until the very end. He played tennis, golf and was a past President of the CT Bowling Association, and their proud national representative. His lifelong passion for the Boston Red Sox (to the dismay of the rest of his family) was strong to the very end. Just this past month, he asked us to take him to a Yard Goats game! A graveside service will be held at noon on Thursday, May 31st at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 580 Elm Street in Rocky Hill. Friends are welcome to join us as we fondly remember "Uncle Howie" at the Avon home of Gail and David Elansky following the burial and continuing that evening. In lieu of flowers, donations, if wished, would be appreciated to Camp Courant, The House of Bread, Tara's Closet or your personal favorite. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hebrew Funeral Association of West Hartford.
