She was predeceased by: her parents, J. W. Howard and Inez Smith; her daughter Tobi Carraway; her great grandchild Jorden Heaven; her aunt Carrie-Bell Martin; and her siblings, Willie Pearl Crawford, Eddie-Mae Blackmon, Annie-Louise Johnson, Corinthians Edwards, John Felton Scott, Joseph Williams and Terry Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy Pouncey of Hartford, Terri Willingham (Wendell), Eria Young (Felipe) of Windsor, Angus Best Jr. of Hartford and Reverand Monique Pouncey of Hartford; her siblings, Robert "Bubba" Ross, Ruby Johnson, Mary-Lee Bailey and Dorena Fleming of Alabama; and her grandchildren, Lynnette DeLeon, Dwana McCoy, Tai Walker, Rhashita Brown, Sheke James, Zachory Hallums, Shanice Malone (Stephen), Iysha Harold, Melvin Gillus III, Dexter Modeste Jr., Whitney Willingham, Shelbi Best, Bryenna Best, Kurstin Coleman, Tanysha Young, Ra-Khye Best, Zakiyya Weaver and Eunique Coleman. She is also survived by Twelve great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
