It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alan Harris Nevas of Westport, Connecticut, who passed away on April 19, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Nevas and Eva Nevas (Harris); and his brothers-in-law, Charles Broudy and Frederick Freedman. He is survived by: his wife Janet Snyder Nevas; his children, Andrew Nevas (Jodie Nevas) of Westport, Debra Nevas (Jonathan Abrams) of Short Hills and Nathaniel Nevas (Leslie Radel) of Wilton, Connecticut.; his grandchildren, Zachary, Chloe, Maxwell, Adam Nevas, Alexa and Seth Abrams; his sister Dorothy Freedman of Westport; his sister-in-law Judith Broudy of Penn Valley; his nieces and nephews, Janet Freedman, Susan Filan, Ellen Wilner, Joshua Broudy and Matthew Broudy; and his friend Manhattan of Martha's Vineyard. He is also survived by his family and many friends.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Temple Israel (14 Coleytown Rd, Westport, CT 06880). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Independent Hebrew Cemetery (135 Richards Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850).
