Jeanette Costello Obituary

Jeanette Costello, 76, formerly of Weston, CT died peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024, in Wexford, Pennsylvania. Born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Paul and Fredesvinda ("Frieda") Rybaczyk, she was also predeceased by her loving husband James ("Jim") and son Brian.

Jeanette is survived by her three daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Moyer and her husband Chris, Dyana Costello Banks and her husband Rick, and Meghan Seiffert and her husband Dan and six loving grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Allie, Brian, Abby and Hayley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette graduated from Pace University in 1968 and earned a Master's in Mathematics from St. John's University in 1970. Following that, she enjoyed a career as an actuary prior to starting a family and settling in Weston.

As a longtime resident of Weston, Jeanette left her mark on the community through her dedicated service to many organizations, including Weston Swimming, where she served as president of the board, the Girl Scouts and Weston Little League. She was an active parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Church and devoted much time to their Faith Formation programs and Youth Group. Later in life, Jeanette's passion for art and her technical skills inspired her to return to school and earn a degree in Graphic Design. She enjoyed sharing these skills as a volunteer for the VOICES organization, contributing to their 9/11 Living Memorial Project.

Above all, Jeanette was most passionate about her family and friends. She created a loving and welcome home that was always open and where a party could erupt at a moment's notice. She made childhood magical for her four children and could never say no to a cat or dog seeking a home. As a proud grandma, Jeanette found great joy in time spent with her grandchildren and loved spoiling them whenever she could. Jeanette was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand or patient ear to her loved ones.
