With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph E. Gilbey of West Simsbury, Connecticut, who passed away on March 16, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Gilbey and Katherine Gilbey (Fahey); and his siblings, Katherine "Kay" Krout, Mary Hamilton, Emily Gilbey, James Gilbey and Sidney Gilbey.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Joseph Kevin Gilbey of West Simsbury, CT, Vince Gilbey (Kristin) of Avon, CT, Suzanne Lancaster (Greg) of Avon, CT, Sheila Gilbey of Bloomfield, CT, John Gilbey (Ali) of Hamden, CT and Jim Gilbey (Minji) of Fullerton, CA; his grandchildren, Brian, Sarah, Will, Megan, Braden, Ciaran, Aiden, Leah, Colin, Brynn and Ryan; and his sisters-in-law, Marie Gilbey, Peggy Gilbey, Margaret Gillon and Mary Forrestel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
