She was predeceased by: her husband John G. Befus Sr.; her parents, Magnus Riveness and Anna Amrin Riveness; her son John G. Befus Jr.; and her sister Evelyn Riveness.
She is survived by: her daughter Sharon Zahariades (Steve) of West Haven; her daughter-in-law Janet Befus of Northford; her grandchildren, Ashlie Kendall (Jon), Kyle Befus (Jen), Steven Zahariades (Joyce), Michael Zahariades (Deb), Marc Zahariades (Michelle) and Nicole Sullivan (John); her great grandchildren, Lea Zahariades, Kelli Schmaltz (John), Mitchell, Griffin, Connor Zahariades, Logan Zahariades, Liam, Jack Sullivan and Jacob Kendall; and her great great grandchildren, Oliver Zahariades and John David "JD" Schmaltz.
