It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarence W. Brainard Jr. of West Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Clarence had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Clarence may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his father Clarence W.; his wife Peggy Allen Brainard; and his partner Shirley Woodworth (Elaine Welch). He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah and Mary Beth (Eugene McManus); and his pets, Sadie and Declan.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the West Haven Funeral Home (662 Savin Ave, West Haven, CT 06516). A prayer was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
