He is survived by: his siblings, Brian McGovern, Bonnie Bowes of West Hartford, Marie Hilliard (Douglas) of Westfield, MA and Joan Barrieau (Gerard) of West Hartford; his great-niece Lulu; his great-nephew Max of West Hartford; and also, Gib Barrieau, Morgan Barrieau (Danielle), Whitley of Boston, MA, Jackie Iacovazzi (Drew) and Paige of West Hartford.

Memorial donations in William's name can be directed to the CT Humane Society.
