He was predeceased by: his parents, William John, Sr. and Kathryn Grace (Walsh); his son Jeffrey Thomas; his siblings, Kyran Walsh, Kathryn Walsh and Suzanne Sandock; and the mother of his children H. Nancy Carson.

He is survived by: his children, James Andrew of West Hartford and Judith Ann of Berlin; his grandsons, Tyler Jeffrey and William James (Barbara Stavola) of West Hartford; and his sister-in-law Carla Carson of Bloomington. He is also survived by four nephews, seven nieces and several grand nephews and nieces.
