(Angela), David P., Adelaide, Dunn (Jeremy) and Thomas L; his adoptive son John A.; his great grandchildren, Matilda Root, Freya Root, Finley Root, Hollis Root, Maya Gayle, Rayah Gayle, Gage Gayle of Pittsfield, MA and George Kennedy of Goochland, VA; his siblings, Mary R. Saunders and Timothy; and his grandson Daniel R. Root. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
