She was predeceased by: her parents, Prafulla Chandra Biswas and Binapani Bose Biswas; and her sisters, Arati Guha and Minati Das. She is survived by: her spouse Asoke Mitra; her sons, Amit Mitra and Aaron Mitra; her daughter-in-law Beth Mitra; her granddaughters, Sophie and Bridget; her sister Tapati Basu; her niece Lolita Carrico; and her nephew Bob Basu. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
