He was predeceased by: his brothers, Anthony, Harold and Steven Givens. He is survived by: his wife Michelle C. H. Givens of West Hartford; his children, John A. Givens, Jr., Ian A. Givens and Storm S. Givens; and his siblings, Kimberly Henry, Lambert Givens, Christy Givens and Jonathan Givens. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
