We bid farewell to Ida Mendes of West Hartford, Connecticut, born in Cumberland, Rhode Island, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 22, 2024 at the age of 94. Ida touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fernando Lourenco and Maria Lourenco (Albuquerque); her husband Antonio Mendes; and her siblings, Albertino Lourenco, John Lourenco, Sr., Linda Costa, Anna Machado and Alice Rebelo.
She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Rebelo (Mendes) of Berlin, Antonio Mendes, Jr. of Farmington and David Mendes of Simsbury; her grandchildren, Brittany L. Huben (Rebelo) of Fairfield, Isabella A. Mendes of Newington, Toby A. Mendes of Simsbury, Mckenna I. Mendes of Simsbury and Davy P. Mendes of Simsbury; and her sister Madeline Aleixo of Wilmington, DE. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
