It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Joseph Travers Jr. of West Hartford, Connecticut, born in New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on June 24, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Howard Travers; and his sister Marcella Lyons. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Shay; his children, Katherine of West Hartford, Major John Travers, Jane Richards (Bill), Paul West Hartford (Judy) and Maura Douglas (Scott); his grandchildren, Sean, Meghan (Devin Travers), Allison, Patrick (Sara Richards), James (Michael Travers) and Katie (Melissa Douglas); and his great grandchildren, Jaiden Rivera and Landyn Richards.
Due to the pandemic, funeral and burial are private.
Howard was proud of his son's journey as a diaconal candidate, accordingly, donations may be made to the Archdiocese of Hartford Pastoral Center, Office of the Diaconate, 467 Bloomfield, CT, 06002.
