He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Shanley and Charlotte Shanley (Klapprodt). He is survived by: his pet Celtics; his children, Marybeth, Mark, Maureen (Tom Grote), Laurie (Bill Magnan) and Jill; and his siblings, Bernard (Mary Lou) and Joan (John Zerlois).
