It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Dixon Shortt of Watertown, Connecticut, born in Waterbury, Connecticut, who passed away on November 23, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shortt and Mary Shortt (Molloy); and his brother David (Patricia). He is survived by: his children, Carey Pavelo (Paul) of Watertown and Joseph Jr. (Alyssa) of Southbury; his grandchildren, Anthony, Julie Pavelo and Caiden Kurth; and his siblings, Barbara DeForest (Frank) of New Hampshire, John (Sally) of New Hampshire, Cynthia of Waterbury and Eugene (Daniele) of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
