He is survived by: his wife Margaret Anne Hoffman Brodie (Peggy); his sons, John Mitchell Brodie II (Kathrine Deming Brodie) of Chevy Chase and Robert Hamilton Brodie (Laura A. Hegeman); his sister Lucy Lee Brodie of Denver, Colorado.; his grandchildren, John Mitchell Brodie III (Jack), Kristen M. Brodie and Lillian S. Brodie; his brothers-in-law, William W. Hoffman (Linda) and George E. Hoffman; his nieces and nephews, William S. Hoffman, Christina C. Hoffman, Sarah H. Anderson and Erik A. Anderson; and his great-nieces, Ruth L. Anderson and Jane K. Anderson.
