It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donata Cavallo (Watertown, Connecticut), who passed away on September 7, 2018, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother & Great Grandmother" Mrs. Donata Cavallo, 81, of Watertown, entered into the gates of heaven on Friday evening, September 7, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Anthony Cavallo Sr. of 57 years. Donata was born in Colliano, Salerno, Italy on November 19, 1936, daughter of the late Leonardo and Carmela (Fasano) Penta. She came to the United States in 1956 and married her husband Anthony in 1961. Donata and her husband opened Cavallo's Import & Deli in 1968 and they ran their business for 14 years. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed being with company, whether entertaining family and friends or visiting with others. She always welcomed anyone into her home and made them feel like family. Besides her husband Anthony, Donata leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children; Anthony Cavallo Jr. and his significant other Ana Lindley of Waterbury, Joanne D'Amelio and her husband Anthony of Waterbury, Michael Cavallo and his wife Maria of Prospect and Carmelina Mancini and her husband Gianfranco of Watertown. She also leaves behind her siblings; Concetta Polzella of Waterbury, Joseph Penta and his wife Janice of Wolcott, Linda Scaglione and her husband Gerardo of Waterbury, her ten grandchildren and her two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Gerardo Penta. Arrangements: A funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, 8:45 AM at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to St. John the Evangelist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held Monday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Donata's memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
