He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Maureen Rund (Coleman); his parents, Mary Rund (Charni) and Charles J. Rund, Sr.; his children, Loretta A. Mele (James) of Cobalt and Charles Daniel "Chuck" Rund (Wende) of Plainville; his siblings, William Rund (Barabara) of Chester, Barbara Roussel of Bristol, Marie Ferrante of Plainville, Bernadette Pavano of Plainville and Claudia Piotrowski of Plainville; his grandchildren, Rachel Mele of Chattanooga, Aaron Mele (Emily) of Torrington, Jeffrey Mele (Anna) of Roanoke, Timothy, Abigail Mele of Cobalt and Madeline Rund of Plainville; and his daughter Charleen Rund.
