She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Stepanek; her parents, Stanley Bakulski and Stephanie Bakulski (Orlowski); her brother Leonard Bakulski; her sister-in-law Janice Bakulski Miller; her sister Ruth Simmons; and her siblings-in-law, Richard Simmons, Robert Stepanek and Elaine Stepanek.
She is survived by: her children, Michael of Edwards, CO, Ronald (Kathleen) of Elkins Park, PA, Lori Welch (Richard) of Holden, MA and Donna Nixer (Mike) of Meriden, CT; her adoptive daughter Bain Patrie of Meriden, CT; her grandchildren, Kelleigh Welch-Floyd (Mike Floyd), Shannon Welch (Ryota Kojima), Corie Welch of Washington, D. C., Amari Stepanek and Dylan Stepanek of Edwards, CO; and her close friends, Sandy Broden, Joyce, Ned Conlan, Pat and Colin Regan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hickcox Funeral Home (195 Main St, Watertown, CT 06795). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Church (574 Main St, Watertown, CT 06795).
