He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Velez (Correa); his parents, Hipolita Velez and Leonor Velez (Pabey); his sons, Alan and Daniel; and his siblings, Hiriam, Hipolito Jr. and Neraida Velez.

He is survived by: his siblings, Pedro Velez, Milagros Velez and Edwin Velez. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
