It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dimitri J. Velezis of Waterbury, Connecticut, who passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his former wife Martha Velezis (Boutsioulis); his siblings, Arthur Velezis, Eric Velezis, Spiros Velezis and Zoitsa Laros; and his parents, Ioannis Velezis and Athena Velezis (Vlahos).
He is survived by: his wife Kleopatra Velezis (Papanicolaou) of Watertown; his children, John J. Velezis (Patricia) of Waterbury, Athena Ziogas (Theodore) of Waterbury and Alekos Velezis (NancyLynne) of Watertown; his stepsons, Nicholas Papanicolaou (Renee) of Bethlehem and Paul Papanicolaou (Ellen); his sisters-in-law, Paula Velezis, Lola Velezis and Gianoula Velezis; his grandchildren, Diana Ziogas-Cruz (Armando), Stephanie Rinaldi (Michael), Samantha Driscoll (Scott), Michael Velezis and Jamey Velezis (Alexis); his great grandchildren, Ariana, Arabella, Armando, Carter, Abigail, Emma and Molly; his stepgrandchildren, Arthur, Panagiota, Andreas, Alex, Nicole, Eric and Andrew; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Anastasia, Alexandria and Quenton. He is also survived by his wife and three children.
