With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frances Whitehead of Washington Depot, Connecticut, who passed away on October 18, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Marshall Collins and Jennie Collins; her husband Robert Griswold Whitehead; her children, Edwin (Marjie) of Washington Depot, Nancy Pickett of Rollinsford, NH, Susan Rood (Howard) of New Hartford, CT. and Deborah; and her siblings, Edwin (Ned), Walter, Warren, David, Marie and Muriel. She was also cherished by her eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Washington Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 294 Washington Depot, CT 06794 or Washington Scholarship Fund P.O. Box 243 Washington Depot, CT 06794, Deborah Whitehead Memorial.

“We will surely miss Aunt Fran. What a great lady: artist, musician, baker, gardener, and homemaker. I especially remember Sundays with Aunt Fran and Debbie at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1963-64. That was a special time and I have felt that Aunt Fran and I had a kind of unstated special bond from that experience.”
