He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcelino Vélez and Carmen Vélez (Morales); and his siblings, Vanhella, Carmen Cordero, Basilio, Margaro and Rosario Vélez.
He is survived by: his wife Alicia Vélez (Cruz); his children, Carmen Morales (Ray) of Meriden, Virgin Vélez of West Haven, Luvidio "Pete" Vélez, Jr. (Lucy) of Texas, Wilson Vélez (Janet) of Waterbury, Daniel, Heorito, Marcelino Vélez, Xavier Vélez of Wallingford, Orlando Vélez (Nancy) of Arizona and Roberto Vélez of New Haven; and his sister Teresa Olivera of Florida. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home (4 Washington Ave, North Haven, CT 06473). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
