It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther S. Brainard of Wallingford, Connecticut, born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on December 6, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Brainard; her son Gary Brainard; her siblings, Joseph McNamara, Christine Brainard and Susan Roland; and her siblings-in-law, Carol McNamara, Hughie Mashia and Cliff Roland.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Brainard (Dave Krane), William Brainard (Eleanor) and Virginia Elwood (John); her grandchildren, Chris Elwood (Lilly), Kelly Ann Gerson (James Brunken), Kelly Cotto (Joe), Eric Brainard (Sarah) and Rebecca Coppola (Dave); and her sister Lynn Mashia. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home (390 River Rd, Shelton, CT 06484). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
