He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Matchett and Lena Matchett; his wife Jenny; and his sister Althea. He is survived by: his son John (Michele) of Cromwell; and his grandsons, Luke and Peter. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vernon Senior Center at 135 Bolton Road, Vernon, CT 06066 where he and Jenny spent many hours enjoying various activities and time with friends in their retirement.
