She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy J. Menders and Rose Menders (Poyerd); her husband Eugene W. Courtney; her siblings, Elaine Thoma, Dolores Viens (Normand) and Roy A. Menders; her sister-in-law Mildred Vlaun; her goddaughter Lorna Caviggia; and her nephew Scott Viens.

She is survived by: her son John (Lek); her grandchildren, Flynn and Liana of Alexandria; her sister-in-law Claire Menders of Oakdale; her aunt Marie Menders; her nephew Walter Thoma (Sandy) of Norwich; and her goddaughters, Cheryl Viens of Griswold and Mary Ellen Troland of New London. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
