He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Tyl and Wanda Tyl; his siblings, Henry, Eddie and Sophie (Bride); and his son Thomas W. Tyl (Rochelle) of Siler City, N. C..
He is survived by: his wife Cecile Marie of Uncasville; his grandchildren, Jessica, Tristan and Jeffrey; and his great grandchildren, Keesha, Remi, Huxton, Braydon, Holt and Levi.
A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John Church (22 Maple Ave, Uncasville, CT 06382).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leonard and Cecile Tyl School Pride Award at the Leonard J. Tyl Middle School, Oakdale.
