He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Trutt, and Ann Trutt, Sr. (Clinton); and his sister Joan Sheridan. He is survived by: his wife Vera Trutt (Schoenemann); his children, Linda Arceri (Louis) and William J. Trutt, III (Melanie); his granddaughters, Caitlin and Courtney Trutt; his brother-in-law William Schoenemann (Patricia); and his friends, John, Jay, Dick and Doug. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
