He was predeceased by: his brothers, Michael, Louis, Paul and Vincent DeFilippo Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Salvatore DeFilippo, Jr, Annemarie Chisholm (Roderick) and Catherine Urbano (Thomas); his grandchildren, Salvatore DeFilippo III, Karlene Chisholm, Kelly Anderson (Todd) and Jessica Cervini (Domenic); his great grandchildren, Jesse, Dylan, Jacquelyn, Juliana, Catherine, Megan and Isabella; and his siblings, Joseph DeFilippo and Martha Bova. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
