He was predeceased by: his former wife Erika Olson (Conzelmann); and his parents, Edward Olson and Elsa Olson (Arpert). He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Nikolai Olson (Mandel); his children, Wendy McElroy (John), David Olson (Patricia), John Nikolai (Sylvia), James Nikolai (Melissa), Elizabeth Jansen and Michael Nikolai (Amy); his grandchildren, Brandon, Erika Olson, Jordan (Tiffany), Matthew, Adam Langlais (Danielle), Kimberly, Kaitlin Nikolai, Sarah, Andrew (Keri), Rebecca Nikolai (Salim), Ben (Lindsey), Sam Jansen (Amber), Emma and Lindsey Nikolai; and his great grandchildren, Kiai, Carson Langlais, Hope Jansen, Grayson, Enzo and Amaya Nikolai.
