He was predeceased by: his parents, John Checca and Donata Checca (Bonitatibus); his siblings, Angelina Checca, Amedeo Checca, Dora Suffoletta, Giulio Checca and Victor Checca; and his brother-in-law Italo Cefaloni.
He is survived by: his wife Liana Checca (Cefaloni); his children, Donna Checca Allan (John) of Easton and Robert Checca, Jr. of Trumbull; his grandchildren, Stephanie Allan Dhanraj (Andrew), Brian Allan and Amanda Allan; his brothers, Rudy Checca (Florinda) of Trumbull and Bruno Checca of Fairfield; and his sisters-in-law, Anna Checca of Trumbull, Lorraine Checca of Monroe and Vincenza Donegan (Michael) of Stratford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
