He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Paul and Elizabeth Mati Vancisin. He is survived by: his spouse Irene Mati (Petrunchik); his children, Nicholas Paul Mati of Longmont Colorado and Cathy Mati Rogers; his grandsons, Aaron, James Rogers, Nicholas and Alexander Mati; and his sisters, Ann Mati Bashar of Shelton and Lillian Vancisin Danowski of Oxford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
