He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Burns and Catherine Burns; his wife Joan Burns; his sisters, Margaret Rea and Frances Coates; and his niece Deborah Coates.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Garamy (George), Nancy Piccirillo (Mark), James Burns (Grace), Robin Scermino (Larry) and Lynn Hughes (Garry); his grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Tyler, Austin, Alyssa, Mark, Paige, Kelli and Dane; and his great grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan.
