He is survived by: his wife Amy Sherwood Palmer; his children, Zoe L. Jay, Daniel S. Palmer and Nicholas M. Palmer; and his siblings, Judith P. Sanford and Alan V. Jay III. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
