He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hanna and Alice Sakakini (Zabaneh); his wife Tiina Larmala-Sakakini; his son Jonathan Sakakini (Betsy) of New York City; his grandchild Siina Sakakini (Seamus Thomson) of Mountain View, CA; his siblings, Ibrahim Sakakini (Nimat), Bahij Sakakini (Batoul), Zahida Salem, Khalil Sakakini (Samar), Imad Sakakini (Layla) and Eeva Larmala; his brother-in-law Antti Larmala (Taru Kovanen) of Helsinki; and his son Sebastian Sakakini. He was also cherished by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church at 5458 Park Avenue Bridgeport.
