He was predeceased by: his parents, Joaquim Rodrigues Barreira and Lucinda Cerqueira Dantas; and his brother Alfredo Barreira. He is survived by: his wife Teresa D. Barreira of Vincent's Medical Center; his children, Jose Barreira (Farah), Regina Barreira and Mark Barreira; his sisters, Estefania Dantas and Aurora Pedreira; his sister-in-law Maria Esteves (Armindo); and his grandchildren, Anthony Joshua Barreira and Brianna Ashley Barreira. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
